The US has proposed a format for talks involving Ukraine, Russia and European representatives

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United States had offered to hold a meeting in the Ukraine-US-Russia-Europe format as part of possible peace talks.

He said this during a conversation with journalists in Kyiv together with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, broadcast by «Suspilne».

«Indeed, the United States is planning a separate meeting with Russia and has proposed the following format — Ukraine, America, Russia and, probably, representatives of Europe», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the President stressed that such a meeting is possible only after analysing the results of the negotiations between Ukraine and the United States.

«It would be logical to hold a joint meeting after we understand the potential outcome of the meeting that has already taken place — America and Ukraine», he stressed.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian side will first receive detailed information on the results of the first stage of the dialogue, after which decisions will be made on further negotiations.

«Our team will contact me and tell me the results of the first round of dialogue, and then we will understand what to do next,» the President added.

As a reminder, representatives of the United States and Russia will hold talks in Florida today.

Prior to that, on Friday, 19 December, the Ukrainian delegation held another round of consultations with the American side in the United States. It also involved European partners.

Earlier, the head of the «Servant of the People» faction, David Arakhamiia, said that there is currently no possibility of concluding «a good» peace deal with Russia — it is either a bad or very bad option, or no deal and the continuation of the war.
