A shelter will be set up in one of the buildings of the Mykolaiv Professional Construction College. The Solidarity Charitable Foundation will allocate seven million hryvnias to create a safe space of about 700 m².
According to the foundation's press service, the money will be used to purchase construction materials and pay for contractor work. A modern ventilation system will be installed in the shelter and bathrooms will be renovated to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

«We always emphasise that together we are strong. Therefore, we must join forces to ensure that students return to safe offline learning at the Mykolaiv College of Construction as soon as possible. The team of our charitable foundation appreciates the opportunity to join the joint implementation of this project and be useful on the way to rebuilding Ukraine», said Matthieu-Marie Arden, Chairman of Solidarity.
In turn, KNUBA Rector Oleksii Dniprov stressed the importance of the project for the educational process.
«The project in Mykolaiv, on which we have started cooperation, is especially valuable for the university now. Upon completion of the planned work, the shelter will be suitable for long-term stay, comfortable for studying and working. This will give us the opportunity to resume the educational process at the college in the offline format», he said.
It should be noted that on 31 October 2024, as part of the First International Conference «Mykolaiv — City on the Wave», the Foundation signed Memoranda of Cooperation with the Mykolaiv Regional Education Agency and the City Hall. As part of this, it is planned to repair the artistic boarding lyceum in Mykolaiv region and assist in the restoration of the housing stock.
