A mobile workshop for drones is being developed in Ukraine. Photo: Ministry of Defence of UkraineThe Ministry of Defence, together with a Ukrainian manufacturer, is developing a specialised mobile workshop for drones.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted that the types and number of unmanned aerial vehicles are increasing, and they need to be repaired and maintained.
The new development is overseen by the Defence Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Defence.
«Our military have golden hands, but we also know that they have to repair aircraft in difficult field conditions. To make this process more convenient and efficient, we want to improve the working conditions of the craftsmen. The new product will be sent to the frontline only after taking into account the wishes of those who will use it», said Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Tkachenko, Head of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Department of the Defence Innovation Agency.
The main goal is to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in effective field repair and restoration of a wide range of Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial systems.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that more than 1.2 million dones had been purchased for the Drone Army, 96% of which were made in Ukraine.
