Ukraine strikes oil depot and aircraft factory in Russia

On the night of 21 January, the Ukrainian military struck a number of strategic targets in Russia and the occupied territories.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for the second time in a week, Special Operations Forces drones attacked the «Liskinska Oil Depot» in the Voronezh region of Russia. The attack set fire to tanks with fuel and lubricants used to supply Russian troops. The oil depot belongs to the corporation «Rosneft».

The infrastructure of the JSC «Smolensk Aviation Plant» in Smolensk region, where combat aircraft are modernised and manufactured, was also damaged. Explosions were reported on the territory of the plant.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck at the command post of the 29th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied Volnovakha, Donetsk region. Explosions and smoke were reported in the area of the target. Information on the results of the attacks is being clarified, the General Staff noted.

As reported, on 20 January, the Russian Ministry of Defence said that overnight it had allegedly intercepted and destroyed 31 Ukrainian UAVs.
