Almost half a billion hryvnias will be allocated for passenger transportation in Mykolaiv's electric transport in 2025

Autonomous trolleybus «Mykolaivelectrotrans», photo «NikVesti»Mykolaiv plans to spend 440 million hryvnias from the city budget to organise passenger transport in city trams and trolleybuses in 2025.
This was announced by Yurii Smetana, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelectrotrans», during a briefing on 21 February, NikVesti reports.
He noted that the company ended 2024 with a loss.
«We are a loss-making company. I'm not ready to give you the figures, but we worked at a loss in 2024. Although we have funds in our account. But according to the accounting report, the company worked at a loss,» said Yurii Smetana.
At the same time, he says, the company operates as a contractor that provides passenger transportation services to Mykolaiv by city electric transport. This year, the city budget plans to allocate almost half a billion hryvnias for these needs.
«In 2025, 440 million hryvnias is allocated to pay for our services for the transportation of passengers by city electric transport. Of course, we need more to complete all the work, but this is enough,» said Yurii Smetana.
The executive committee of the city council signed the relevant agreement with ME «Mykolaivelectrotrans» on 20 January 2025, according to the public procurement system Prozorro.
The justification states that the company is the only business entity in Mykolaiv that provides electric passenger transportation services. This includes 8 trolleybus routes and 6 tram routes.
As a reminder, the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelectrotrans» plans to repair the crossing near the zoo and on 1a Voychna Street near Narodnyi Sad Park for more than 25 million hryvnias.
