Tried to disrupt the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region: the SSU detained a spy on suspicion of working for the Russian Federation

Employees of the Security Service detained a female spy on suspicion of passing on important information to the Russian Federation about Ukrainian military units in the Kupiansk region.

This was reported by the SSU press service.

According to law enforcement officers, from June to September 2022, the agent gave the occupiers the coordinates of the location of Ukrainian military units in the Kupiansk direction, as well as information about their military equipment and the number of personnel.

It is noted that in order to collect information, she went around the frontline area and covertly photographed the places of temporary bases of the Defense Forces. Then she sent the corresponding coordinates with a textual description to the «liaison» of Russian intelligence.

With the help of a collaborator who was a member of the occupying «Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation» in Balaklia, the information received reached the staff members of the Russian special services. Despite the enemy's attempt to use this data to deter the counteroffensive actions of the Armed Forces, they failed to implement their plans.

«After the liberation of Kharkiv Oblast, the informant hid in de-occupied Balaklia, where she tried to destroy the evidence of her treasonous activities. However, thanks to the operational actions of the SSU officers, she was discovered and detained,» law enforcement officers said.

During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of criminal activity was seized from her.
