Agricultural production in Mykolaiv region has decreased: down almost 14% over the year

In 2025, farmers in Mykolaiv region produced less agricultural products than a year earlier. The overall indicator fell to 86%, with the largest decline recorded in crop production, while livestock production was less affected.
This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service, according to NikVesti.
Production volumes in the crop production sector in the region are slightly over 85%. At the same time, in livestock farming, they are over 95%.
In the Odesa region, the overall agricultural production index exceeded 91%: in crop production — almost 91%, in livestock production — almost 97%. In the Kherson region, the overall index is 66%, crop production has fallen to 58%, and livestock production is at almost 96%.
Positive production dynamics were recorded in only two regions — Chernihiv region, where agricultural production grew by 4.1%, and Sumy region, with an increase of 0.5%. All other regions of Ukraine showed a decline. The largest decline in agricultural production was in Donetsk region (-44.7%), Kherson region (-33.7%) and Zaporizhzhia region (-21.6%).
Overall, in 2025, agricultural production in Ukraine decreased by 6.8% compared to 2024. The all-Ukrainian agricultural production index was over 93%. In particular, crop production was over 92%, and livestock production was almost 96%.
Earlier it was reported that farmers in the Mykolaiv region lost a significant part of their harvest due to spring frosts and a prolonged summer drought. Sunflowers and corn were the most affected — in some fields, yields decreased several times compared to previous years.
In addition, last year, farmers in the Kherson region suffered losses of almost 2.3 billion hryvnias due to unfavourable weather conditions. More than 250 agricultural producers lost about 60,000 hectares of crops.
