We will remind you that in May 2023, the sculptures of marble «Arkas» lions were returned to Chestnut Square in Mykolaiv, from where they were dismantled for storage after the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine.
Synagogue in Mykolaiv
It should be noted that in October 2023 in Mykolaiv, unknown attackers poured red paint over the building of the synagogue of the Jewish community, located in the center of the city. The act of vandalism, according to the opinion of the Jewish community, could probably be caused by the events in the Middle East, where massive shelling began between Israel and the Gaza Strip in early October.
The police have started criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of equality and are looking for the persons who splashed paint on the synagogue.
