About six million people in Ukraine are at risk of mine danger, — Shmyhal

In Ukraine, about six million people are at risk of mine danger. About 250 people died from mines, and more than 500 were injured.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the ceremony of handing over 15 mobile safety classes for working with children to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukrinform reported.

«According to the analysis and expert data, about six million people in Ukraine are at risk of mine danger to their lives and health. So far, about 250 people have died from landmines in Ukraine, and more than 500 people have been injured and maimed by landmines. And if nothing is done or standard technologies are used, then about nine thousand people will be injured or killed by mines in Ukraine», — emphasised Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, 505 children have died since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, of which three children were blown up by landmines and 38 were seriously injured by explosive objects.

We remind you that since the beginning of the full-scale war, over 20,000 munitions have been removed and neutralized by the pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service on the territory of the Mykolaiv region.
