A high-rise building caught fire in the Kyiv region as a result of Russian shelling

On the night of December 22, Russian troops attacked the territory of Ukraine with drones. As a result of falling debris in Brovary, Kyiv region, the roof of a high-rise building caught fire, and the residents of the building were evacuated.
Brovary City Mayor Ihor Sapozhko reported that at 00:30 information was received about a fire on the roof of a 25-story apartment building due to a drone crash.
«The fire was extinguished on an area of 30 square meters, there was no significant damage. Fortunately, there were no casualties either. After 2 a.m., all residents were able to return to their apartments», the mayor wrote.
The information about the falling debris of a downed target onto the roof of a 25-story residential building was also confirmed by the head of the Kyiv RMA, Ruslan Kravchenko.
Later, the National Police reported that two high-rise buildings were damaged as a result of the shelling.
«In one of the buildings, debris fell on the roof, causing a fire in the elevator shaft. The fire was quickly extinguished by rescuers, there were no injuries. In another building, windows and a car were damaged», the report says.
As a reminder, on the night of December 22, air defense forces in the Mykolaiv region destroyed ten Shahed 131/136 drones.
