A sea mine washed up on the coast of Odesa region: it was destroyed

On Wednesday, 22 January, sailors destroyed another sea mine that washed up on the coast of Odesa region.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.

The detected munition was defused by sailors through controlled detonation in a safe place.

«In case of detection of explosive items, do not approach, touch or attempt to move or defuse them yourself. If you find such items, please notify the relevant services at», the statement said.

The Ukrainian Navy also reminded that it is forbidden to stay in uninspected areas of the coast in Odesa region.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war and as of the end of 2024, the underwater dem ining units of the special purpose rescue detachment have made 316 engagements, surveyed 2,194 hectares of water, and found and destroyed 150 explosive items.
