«For almost two weeks now, Odesa has been under fire: both rockets and drones. Yesterday, a cluster missile flew into the port, which exploded on approach to the target and destroyed everything within a radius of 200-300 metres around,» said Oleh Kiper.

The head of the OVA reminded that four Syrians were killed in the strike, another Syrian was wounded, but he has already been operated on and is in a stable condition. He clarified that the wounded Ukrainian was provided with medical assistance on the spot.

Oleh Kiper added that by attacking the port infrastructure of Odesa, Russia is trying to disrupt the Ukrainian economy.

«There is already so much damage in that port that I don't want to talk about it. This is a system of destroying port infrastructure in order to hinder the work of our economy in any way. It is a matter of principle for them to prevent Ukraine from developing. As far as I remember, there have been about 270 such damages to port infrastructure over the entire period,» said Oleh Kiper.

As a reminder, a ballistic missile attack on Odesa on the evening of 11 March damaged port infrastructure and a civilian vessel.

The attack killed four Syrian citizens and injured two others. At the time of the attack, crew members were loading the ship with wheat for export to Algeria.
