In Odesa, inaccuracies and errors totaling 43 million hryvnias were found in the declarations of officials.

Deputy head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption Serhii Hupiak reported this, Suspilne.Odesa reports.

He noted that 44 inspections out of 68 planned were carried out at the NAPC. Thus, in four declarations, the officials could not explain the origin of funds for almost 16 million hryvnias.

Most of the violations were recorded among local self-government deputies, as well as officials of the customs, tax, and migration services.

«The composition of subjects is quite different, but most of them are local self-government deputies. Then there are customs, tax spheres, the migration service, and then there is one example from other spheres,» Hupiak explained.

The deputy head of NAPC also reported on the agency's work on a new five-year anti-corruption strategy.

«It is clear that the society expects and now there is a request for exposure, for planting, for resonance. But NAPC is about something else. It's about how to lay the mechanisms that will reduce corruption in the state in the long term,» he said.

We will remind that as of mid-September, Ukrainian officials submitted more than 1.2 million declarations. Half of the documents were filled out with violations, and errors were found in a third.

Previously, NikVesti reported that the NAPC recorded an unreliable declaration of cryptocurrency in the declaration of a Mykolaiv official for 148 million hryvnias.

We will remind you that earlier Mykolaiv region was among the top regions where the NACP found the most signs of violations in the declarations of officials.
