Kim will have an adviser on military cooperation and prisoner exchange

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, has announced the creation of a new position in his team — a full-time advisor who will be responsible for interacting with the military, their families and organising the exchange of prisoners.

He announced this during a press conference on 30 December, according to NikVesti.

«I am currently negotiating with a person who will be my full-time advisor and will primarily deal with prisoner exchanges, as well as with the military and their families. This requires approval at all levels, but we are working on its implementation,» said Vitalii Kim.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets reported that among all Ukrainian prisoners held in the Russian Federation, the largest number of representatives of units of the Mykolaiv brigades. In particular, these are marines of the 36th Brigade.

In April, a new institution was established in Ukraine to protect the rights of military personnel and their families. In particular, the Central Department for the Protection of Servicemen's Rights was established, which is directly subordinated to the Minister of Defence and will be responsible for reviewing appeals and complaints from servicemen, providing primary legal aid, conducting inspections and investigating violations of the rights of servicemen and their families.
