Putin calls up 160,000 more Russians for military service

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the spring conscription of Russians for military service.

This was reported by «Interfax».

According to the decree, 160,000 people aged 18 to 30 will be called up for service. The draft will take place from 1 April to 15 June.

In addition, soldiers, sailors, sergeants and petty officers whose conscripted military service has expired will be dismissed from military service.

According to official data, 133,000 recruits were sent to the army during the last autumn conscription for a one-year term. During the spring campaign of 2024, 150,000 people were called up to serve in the army.

As a reminder, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which Ukrainian citizens illegally staying in Russia must either leave the country or regularise their legal status by 10 September 2025.
