Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said that he does not yet understand what Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia will look like, but he is confident that it will not be similar to the end of World War II.

He said this on 2 February during a staff meeting at the Mykolaiv City Council, according to NikVesti.

According to the mayor, the main task of the state and local authorities is to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and maintain the rear, but he hopes that society will soon see the answer to the question of how the war will end.

«Our task is to do everything possible to ensure that the Armed Forces win this war, that Ukraine wins. We will see what kind of victory it will be, hopefully in the near future. I don't think it will be like World War II. But that is a question for the future. We are in the present, which requires work and basic needs,» said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

We will remind you that the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, stated that for most Ukrainians, victory in the war with Russia today means, first and foremost, the cessation of hostilities, the preservation of human life, and the provision of security guarantees.
