In the Mykolaiv region, the limited liability companies «Myslyvtsi Pobuzhzhia» and «Kazanka Hunting and Fishing Farm» have submitted applications to voluntarily relinquish the use of hunting grounds covering an area of over 82,000 hectares.
This was announced at a meeting of the Mykolaiv Regional Council’s committee on regional development, planning, budget, finance and investment, NikVesti reports.
Mykola Matsuiev, chief specialist of the hunting management department at the Southern Interregional Directorate of Forestry and Hunting Management, stated that the basis for drafting the proposed decisions were the applications from the enterprises themselves and a submission from the State Forestry Agency dated 11 March 2026.
According to the documents, «Myslyvtsi Pobuzhzhia» LLC is relinquishing 29,470 hectares in the Voznesensk district (the territories of the Oleksandrivska, Buzka and Prybuzhanska communities). At the same time, the company retains the right to use over 10,000 hectares.
In turn, «Kazanka Hunting and Fishing Farm» is completely terminating its right of use over an area of 52,511 hectares in the former Kazanka district.
During the discussion, members of the regional council asked whether the enterprises had any debts to the regional budget or unfulfilled obligations regarding the care of wild animals.
«What obligations does this organisation have towards the state and the regional council? Are there any outstanding payments or debts? Is anyone monitoring this situation?» asked the committee members.
Mykola Matsuiev explained that the organisations’ activities had focused exclusively on game management — breeding and protecting animals — and that they had now voluntarily initiated the return of the land.
Following the discussion, members of the budget committee supported both draft resolutions. The matters will be submitted for consideration at the 35th extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.
It should be noted that these hunting grounds were previously granted to the aforementioned users by decisions of the regional council back in September 2012 for a period of 15 years. These decisions are now to be declared null and void.
It was previously reported that in the Mykolaiv region, half of the hunting grounds still have no official users. Currently, only 35 hunting estates in the region have owners.
