Almost all Mykolaiv People's Deputies supported increasing the budget by ₴500 billion for military needs

On September 18, the Verkhovna Rada voted to increase spending from the state budget on military needs by 500 billion hryvnias. Almost all Mykolaiv People's Deputies supported the changes.

NikVesti learned about this from the results of the roll-call vote, which was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

People's deputies voted «for» increasing the state budget for defense needs:

• Oleksandr Haidu
• Artem Chornomorov
• Maksym Dyrdin
• Ihor Nehulevskyi
• Iryna Kormyshkina
• Davyd Arakhamiia

People's deputy Ihor Kopytin was absent.

We will remind that in total, 298 deputies supported the amendment to the draft law. Thus, the total expenditures of the state budget for 2024 have now reached a record amount of 3.73 trillion hryvnias.

In August, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the state budget lacked more than 500 billion hryvnias for defense needs. At the same time, he announced that the government hopes to close the deficit of 500 billion hryvnias thanks to the over-implementation of the plan for taxes and payments this year, savings on foreign debt servicing and borrowing on the domestic market.

We will also remind you that on Tuesday, September 17, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on tax increases in the first reading. The decision was supported by almost all people's deputies from the Mykolaiv region.
