The Government will allocate 100 million hryvnias to prepare Odesa for the heating season and support critical infrastructure facilities.

This was announced by Oleksii Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, during the presentation of the new head of the city's military administration.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, Odesa is of strategic importance for the whole country: humanitarian and energy routes, grain exports and international aid pass through the city. The security of the south and the stability of the state depend on the stability of Odesa.

He stressed that the main priority ahead of winter is to ensure that critical infrastructure is ready: stable heat, fuel reserves, autonomous power supplies and trained repair teams.

«Serhii Lysak, the head of the RMA, has extensive experience in public service and working in difficult conditions. He headed the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, a region that lives under the constant threat of shelling but remains a centre of economic activity, logistics and defence», the Odesa City Council said.

As a reminder, on 15 October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Serhii Lysak as the head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced these personnel changes and stressed that Odesa «deserves more protection and more support».

The decision was made against the backdrop of the termination of the Ukrainian citizenship of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
