Mykolaiv foresters, national parks and volunteer units have received seven modern pumping stations to fight fires. The equipment was donated by the Kingdom of Denmark as part of international support for the region.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, the firefighting modules were purchased by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) at the expense of the Danish Embassy in Ukraine.

The pumping stations are equipped with petrol engines that provide a powerful flow of water or foam solution. Along with the pumping stations, the region received 500 litres of concentrated foam.

The equipment was handed over to the Southern Forest Office «Forests of Ukraine», regional landscape parks «Tylihulskyi», «Hranitno-Stepove Pobuzhzhia», «Pryinhulskyi» and volunteer units. Three stations have already been set up in Voznesenskyi, Pervomaiskyi and Mykolaiv districts.

Earlier it was reported that Mykolaiv region would receive a new aid package from Denmark worth more than EUR 26 million for reconstruction.

The Kingdom of Denmark will launch a three-year assistance programme for Ukraine, which will be the largest since the start of the full-scale invasion. Mykolaiv region may receive ~60% of the 5.1 billion Danish kroner (€680 million).
