On Sunday, April 14, a 19-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were injured due to the detonation of explosives in the village of Kvitneve of the Pervomayska community in the Mykolaiv region.
This was reported by the State Service for Emergency Situations in the Mykolaiv region.
According to rescuers, according to preliminary information, the victims found ammunition, brought it home and «wanted to do something with it.» As a result of physical impact on the explosive, it detonated. The boy and the girl are currently in medical facilities. Doctors are fighting for their lives.
«It is worth noting that the area where the incident happened remains a potentially polluted area, because the community was in the zone of active hostilities for a long time. That is why there is a high level of mine danger here,» the report says.
The rescuers emphasized that if you find an object that looks like an explosive, it is strictly forbidden to:
- touch, move it or do any other actions with it, especially try to disassemble or destroy it;
- carry out any work near the find, especially those that may cause even a slight movement of the soil;
- to smoke near it, use lighters, as well as other sources of open fire and objects that can create it;
- use radio-electronic devices near him (mobile phones, remote controls, car alarms, etc.);
- pour liquids on the object, cover it with soil, try to cover it with something or perform other actions on it: sound, light, heat, mechanical and others;
- allow gathering of people directly next to the found object.
The State Emergency Service reminded what to do in case of discovery of an explosive object:
- stop, do not touch anything;
- remember the place of discovery of the object;
- warn people nearby about the discovered object;
- go away yourself and take the people nearby as far as possible (at least 100 meters) from the find. At the same time, it is necessary to leave by the same route (preferably following the same route) by which you came.
You also need to call 101 or 102.
