An investigation has been launched after the publication of information that the occupiers executed unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war in Krynky near Kherson.

This was announced by the Office of the Prosecutor General mentioned in the message.

«On April 7, 2024, a video was published on one of the Telegram channels showing Russian military personnel shooting three captured Ukrainian servicemen,» the statement said.

The video shows a representative of the Russian armed forces taking several shots at unarmed, immobile soldiers, presumably with a rifle.

The description below the video indicates that the incident took place near Krynky in Oleshky community, Kherson region.

An investigation has been launched by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office to examine the fact of violation of laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (part 2, article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

«Once again, representatives of the aggressor country blatantly disregard the provisions of the Geneva Conventions regarding the treatment of prisoners of war, which indicates the support for such actions by the top command of the Russian armed forces,» the prosecutors stated.

It should be recalled that in Mykolaiv, there have been weekly rallies in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

In particular, on Sunday, February 18, a rally of relatives and loved ones was held in Mykolaiv  in support of prisoners of war. Among the protesters were relatives of the captured Mykolaiv soldiers, including members of the "Azovstal" defense group.

Also, on February 4, a large-scale rally took place in Mykolaiv in support of prisoners of war and Ukrainian soldiers who were missing.

Furthermore, on October 28, in Mykolaiv, a rally was held demanding to allocate funds from the city budget not for roads and amenities, but for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As it is known, the Mykolaiv City Council has already allocated about 700 million hryvnias for the needs of the Defense Forces.

In addition, on November 4, the residents of Mykolaiv joined an action in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, it was reported that on January 31, Ukraine repatriated 207 Ukrainian soldiers from Russian captivity. 83 of them were members of the National Guard, Border Guards, and the Police.

It should be noted that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized that all efforts are focused on the release of all prisoners of war, including those who fell into captivity while covering the withdrawal of troops near Avdiivka.
