President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again supported US President Donald Trump's position on Russia and his approach to negotiations to end the war.
In an interview with Fox News, he called the US president's rhetoric «fair and honest».
«This is exactly what Putin fears. He doesn't want a strong Trump to support Ukraine, because that would be a strong Ukraine», he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has returned 50% of the territories once occupied by Russian troops.
«We would like to achieve a fair end to this war. We are not afraid. Russia is not so strong, but we do not want to lose more of our lives, men and women», the Head of State noted.
He also called for increased international pressure on Putin and the creation of more reliable security mechanisms for Ukraine.
«I believe that guarantees from Europe alone will never be enough. Europeans understand that without security guarantees from the US, from President Trump, it will not be enough. Putin is not afraid of Europe. Unfortunately, this is true», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine.
