The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, responded to statements by American politicians about the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine.

According to him, «some people want to take credit for the victory».

«I believe that some people want to take credit for the victory... That's why there is all this talk about elections. But the reality is that we always unite against it and we don't like being told what to do... We chose our president and we will decide how to live our lives,» he wrote.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump criticised President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling him «a dictator without elections». According to him, Volodymyr Zelenskyy admits that half of the money sent by the United States «has disappeared».

In his turn, US Vice President J.D. Vance also criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his public statements against Donald Trump.

According to Vance, «publicly slandering» Trump will only worsen the situation, and attempts to change his mind through the media will not work. This statement came a few hours after Zelensky accused Trump of living in the «disinformation space» created by Russia.

In addition, Trump's national security adviser Mike Volz said that relations between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy were deteriorating. According to him, the relationship «is in a state of frustration and is clearly moving in the wrong direction».
