Kherson region received over ₴800 million for construction of shelters and underground schools this year

As of December 2024, Kherson region has received 817 million hryvnias  for the construction of protective structures and underground schools.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

He points out that these funds were used to build nine protective structures and three underground schools.

«This year, about 500 schoolchildren returned to their desks in September. Currently, 5 schools in the region are already operating in a mixed format. One of the important steps is to create safe learning environments. We have repaired 6 shelters and allocated over ₴817 million for the construction of new protective structures. The work is ongoing so that even more children can study in safe conditions», he added.

Earlier it was reported that the Department of Capital Construction of Kherson City Council signed an agreement for the construction of a radiation shelter worth 82 million hryvnias with the Kyiv-based company «Tensens», which does not have its own equipment, office and employees.
