Deputies adopted the ecological program of Mykolaiv until 2027: it provides for the construction of sewage treatment facilities and planting of trees

Deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council to adopt the city's environmental program for 2023-2027.

They made the relevant decision during the meeting of the session of the Mykolaiv City Council today, October 26, writes «NikVesti».

The program envisages expenses in the amount of 81 million 717 thousand hryvnias over five years. In particular, in 2023 — 10 million 650 thousand hryvnias, in 2024 — 18 million 298 thousand hryvnias, in 2025 — 17 million 56 thousand hryvnias, in 2026 — 17 million 719 thousand hryvnias, in 2027 — 17 million 992 thousand hryvnias. It is about funds from the budget of Mykolaiv and other sources of financing.

The main executor of the program is the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council, and co-executors: «Mykolaiv Parks», «ELU Avtodorih», «Mykolaivvodokanal», «Mykolaiv Development Agency» and executive bodies of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The program provides for the construction of treatment facilities at the discharges of storm collectors into the Pivdennyy Buh and Inhul rivers, the purchase and installation of nets for the mechanical cleaning of stormwater runoff, the purchase of pumping equipment for sewage pumping station No. 5, the purchase of tree and shrub seedlings, measures to prevent the spread of ragweed, the holding of annual environmental readings, as well as activities in the production of printed products on eco-themes and the development of land management projects for parks and squares.

We will remind, in the Mykolaiv region, ecologists are studying the impact of hostilities on the environment in the Halytsynove, Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities. Specialists conducted an analysis of the quality of drinking water, organized a survey of local residents and received data on environmental problems caused by the Russian invasion.
