Mykolaiv region is the first in terms of growth of payroll tax revenues from business

Local budget revenues from payroll tax from businesses in Mykolaiv region have increased by a third. This is the highest figure among Ukrainian regions over the past year compared to 2023, excluding Kyiv.
These data were published by Forbes Ukraine, according to NikVesti.
According to data obtained by the media outlet from the Office of the President of Ukraine, the increase in personal income tax (PIT) revenues to local budgets in Mykolaiv region in 2024 was 31.9%.
The dynamics in Poltava (30.9%), Ternopil (30.3%) and Lviv (29.4%) regions were slightly less dynamic. In Odesa region, personal income tax revenues increased by 25.2%, and in Kherson region — by 20.9% compared to 2023.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2024, the general fund of local budgets received 451 billion hryvnias (85.6 billion hryvnias more than in 2023).
It is noted that the main sources of revenues of the general fund of local budgets (excluding interbudgetary transfers) in 2024 were:

257.5 billion hryvnias — personal income tax (PIT);

69.1 billion hryvnias — single tax;

39.3 billion hryvnias — land payment;

27.8 billion hryvnias — excise tax;

27.1 billion hryvnias — corporate income tax on private sector enterprises;

10.7 billion hryvnias — real estate tax.
The increase in the revenues of the general fund of local budgets by 2023 was recorded in Kyiv (+36.8%) and in the following regions: Mykolaiv (+29.5%), Zakarpattia (+27.5%), Kyiv (+27.2%), Volyn (26.1%), Vinnytsia (+25.1%).
In an interview with Forbes Ukraine, Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, said that this increase in personal income tax revenues in the regions is due not only to the relocation of business, but also to its de-shadowing.
The President's Office also expects an increase in local budget revenues due to the new booking system, which requires employers to pay employees a salary of at least UAH 20,000.
Earlier it was reported that 15 companies owned by foreign nationals started operating in Mykolaiv region in 2024.
At the same time, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, spoke about plans to create the largest industrial park in Ukraine in the region. The Mykolaiv City Council amended the city's Economic and Social Development Programme to include the construction of an industrial park.
