Consequences of shelling of Mykolaiv: over 70 tonnes of oil collected from the Southern Bug

In Mykolaiv, the clean-up of the aftermath of the Russian shelling that caused a large amount of oil to leak into the Southern Bug River continues. So far, more than 70 tonnes have been collected.
This was reported by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.
«Both our services and the company owner's employees are working to eliminate the consequences. In addition, equipment is being used to remove the contaminated soil layer», he said.
"Absorbent booms are being used to contain the contamination. The oil has been pumped out by specialists of the State Emergency Service all these days.
As a reminder, on the night of 28 December in Mykolaiv, UAV debris damaged a vegetable oil tank of the agricultural enterprise «Ecotrans».
