Photo: Ministry of EnvironmentThe city of Mykolaiv continues to clean up the aftermath of the shelling on 28 December, which caused oil to leak into the Southern Bug River. As of today, 119 tonnes of oil have been pumped out, but the work is still ongoing.
This was announced by the mayor of the city, Oleksandr Sienkevych.
According to him, experts plan to carry out oil pumping operations at night as well.
As a reminder, on the night of 28 December in Mykolaiv, UAV debris damaged a vegetable oil tank of the agricultural enterprise «Ecotrans».
According to the Ministry of Environment, the spill of vegetable oil into the soil and water area of the Bug Estuary caused environmental damage worth 45 million hryvnias.
