195 tonnes of oil pumped out: liquidation of the aftermath of Russian shelling continues in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv continues to clean up the aftermath of the shelling on 28 December last year, which resulted in an oil leak into the Southern Bug River. As of today, 195 tonnes of oil-water emulsion have been pumped out.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

It is noted that the work is currently being carried out by the company, which was affected by the shelling.

As a reminder, on the night of 28 December 2024, in Mykolaiv, UAV debris damaged a vegetable oil tank of the agricultural enterprise «Ecotrans».

According to the Ministry of Environment, the spill of vegetable oil into the soil and water area of the Bug Estuary caused environmental damage worth 45 million hryvnias.
