European Commission: The situation in Israel will not shake Ukraine′s support

The aggravation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will not reduce Ukraine's support in the war against Russia, the European Commission assured.

«European Truth» writes about this with reference to the briefing of the spokesperson of the European Commission, Eric Mamer, in Brussels.

— Nothing and in no case will affect the support that the EU provides to Ukraine. There can be no doubt about that, — said Eric Mamer, answering the question about how the situation in the Middle East can change the EU's support for Ukraine.

According to him, «if you listen to the speech of the president (Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission, — note) in Bordeaux on Saturday, she once again confirmed: «we stand with the Ukrainian people as long as necessary in the conflict against Russia».

The spokesman of the EU foreign policy service, Peter Stano, separately commented on whether a possible connection between the events in Ukraine and Israel, as well as possible attempts by Russia to use this situation to its advantage, will be the topic of an emergency meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the European Union on Tuesday.

— Whenever ministers meet, they discuss events in Ukraine because of their importance. I will only emphasize: the idea of tomorrow's meeting... to discuss what happened (in Israel, — note) and what should be the response of the European Union in this context. Of course, regardless of this, Russia tries to use everything that happens in the international sphere: either to inflame instability, or to use it to strengthen its campaign against Ukraine. But this does not mean that the attention of the European Union will be refocused from Ukraine, — said Peter Stano.

We remind, earlier the President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that the attack of the terrorist group Hamas on Israel will contribute to Russian aggression against Ukraine, because it will divert the world's attention from it.
