Newly elected US President Donald Trump does not understand why Washington gave permission to Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with American missiles.
This was reported by Time in a publication dedicated to the recognition of Trump as the person of the year, writes «European Truth».
It is noted that Donald Trump criticized Ukraine for launching American-made missiles into the territory of the Russian Federation.
«I absolutely do not agree with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing this?» he asked.
In addition, the politician assured that he will not abandon Ukraine in his attempts to settle the Russian-Ukrainian war.
«The number of dead young soldiers lying in the fields everywhere is staggering. What is happening is madness,» said Donald Trump.
We will remind that in November, Donald Trump once again made a statement to end the war in Ukraine.
Election of the 47th President of the USA
On November 6, voting in the presidential elections ended in the USA — the last polling stations were closed in Alaska. Even before the official results were announced, Donald Trump declared himself the winner of the election. The Republican received 240 votes, while Democrat Kamala Harris received 213.
During the speech in Florida, Trump already made a number of statements. In particular, he assured that he plans to stop all wars in the world.
A number of country leaders have already congratulated Trump on his victory: French President Emmanuel Macron, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. For the first time, they commented on the results of the US elections in China, expressing hope for further peaceful and mutually beneficial relations.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated US President Donald Trump on his victory in the elections. He noted that he hopes for the implementation of the «peace through strength» approach for a just end to the war in Ukraine.
Also, Vice President Kamala Harris called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections.
But in Russia, they were in no hurry to congratulate Trump on his victory. The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov, said that he did not know whether the leader of the new president would welcome them, because «the USA is an unfriendly country.» Later, information about congratulations from Putin appeared. The Washington Post, citing its own sources, reported that Donald Trump spoke by phone with Vladimir Putin on November 7. One of the newspaper's interlocutors noted that Trump advised the Russian leader not to escalate the war in Ukraine, recalling the «significant military presence» of the United States in Europe.
However, spokesman Dmytro Peskov denied the information published by the Washington Post that Putin and the newly elected US president had a telephone conversation.
A few days after the election, Donald Trump, the youngest son of the newly elected US president, published a video on his Instagram mocking the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The video says that Ukraine will lose the support of the United States in 38 days.
