Despite the fact that the entrance to it is not yet available for the townspeople, residents of Mykolaiv together with their children took photos and videos in memory of the Christmas tree.

Traditionally, the city's main Christmas tree was installed in front of the Mykolaiv City Council building on Soborna Square. But during the full-scale invasion, the authorities abandoned this idea.

The city authorities also stated that this year the city does not plan to hold festive events on Christmas and New Year holidays.

Instead, in December 2022, a «military-style» New Year's tree appeared in Mykolaiv's Kashtanovyi Square — it was created from camouflage netting for the military. It was used to cover the sandbags that were used to protect the monument to St. Nicholas in case of Russian shelling back in October.

After that, residents of Mykolaiv came to the «Christmas Tree of Invincible People» and decorated it with New Year's toys and wishes. Later, they were transferred to the Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local History.
