The first shelter has been set up in the House of Children and Youth Creativity in one of the city's districts.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
It is noted that the shelter has an area of 137 square metres. It is designed for 125 participants in the educational process. Walls, floors, ceilings were arranged there, as well as ventilation, emergency lighting and an uninterruptible power supply were installed.
«The room has a bathroom, a medical corner and two exits. There is also a necessary supply of drinking and industrial water, furniture, appliances and teaching materials — all to ensure that the children of the creative centre can study efficiently and safely during air raids», the statement said.
The report added that thanks to the equipped shelter, 9 teams of the institution will be able to return to their classrooms.
«In the current academic year, we have 43 clubs, which is 1500 pupils. They are currently studying at the city's secondary schools. We are very grateful to them for their close and fruitful cooperation. After the shelter is completed, 9 groups will be able to return to their classrooms», said the acting director of the institution.
The repair work was carried out by the Housing and Utilities Department of Mykolaiv City Council.
As a reminder, the Odesa Specialised Preschool Education Institution «Nursery School» №241 has completed major repairs and the construction of a shelter. The total cost of the repair was 4.9 million hryvnias.
