Kim awaits approval of new blackout schedules for Pivdennoukrainsk: critical infrastructure is already working smoothly

Mykolaiv has developed a new schedule of power outages for Pivdenoukrainsk, which will provide the city with additional electricity. It is currently being considered by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Valentyn Haidarzhy, Deputy Head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, answered the question of NikVesti during a press conference on the final work for 2025.

He explained that it was a matter of revising the load volumes between «Mykolaivoblenergo» and «Atomservice», which provides electricity to Pivdennoukrainsk. Now, the power available to the city should increase, which will make it possible to reduce the duration of blackouts.

— Vitalii addressed the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister. Then there was a meeting chaired by the acting head of the Ministry of Energy. It was decided to revise the schedules of «Mykolaivoblenergo» and increase them by 4 mW, and «Atomservice», the company that serves Pivdennoukrainsk, to reduce them from 7.5 to 3.5 mW. This schedule is currently being agreed upon. When it is approved, the cut-off period in Pivdennoukrainsk will be reduced, said Valentyn Haidarzhy.

The city has already connected critical infrastructure to the power supply and now it is not subject to power outages.

«Also, according to the head of the RMA and the head of «Atomservice», they have switched critical infrastructure facilities separately and are not disconnecting them: water supply, sewage and heat supply,» he added.

As a reminder, local residents at the session complained about long power cuts, while the city has no alternative energy sources. In this regard, the mayor sent official letters to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Ukrenergo and Mykolaiv Regional State Administration asking them to grant Pivdennoukrainsk a status of a high security facility and to take into account the lack of gas supply.

During the press conference, the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council informed local residents that it had asked government agencies to revise the schedules of power outages, but received a response that granting the city of «special conditions» would be considered discrimination against other consumers.

Vitalii Kim raised this issue at the meeting and said that the Ministry of Energy promised to review the current conditions of the blackout schedules in Pivdennoukrainsk.
