Mykolaiv region wants to transfer 105,000 litres of diesel fuel for the needs of schools and hospitals in communities.
This was discussed during a meeting of the commission on joint property of territorial communities of villages, settlements, and cities of Mykolaiv region, housing and communal services, capital construction, and architecture on 27 January, according to NikVesti.
It should be noted that last year, the government allocated 665 million hryvnias to nine frontline communities, including Mykolaiv region, for the purchase of fuel for backup power sources for hospitals, schools, shelters, and water utilities. The region received 17.5 million hryvnias.
As explained during the commission by Yevhen Pronin, head of the civil protection department of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, 300,000 litres of diesel fuel were purchased to support the social sector. Part of this volume — over 105,000 litres — is proposed to be transferred to communities in the region.
During the discussion, deputies provided recommendations for finalising the draft decision and supported its submission for consideration at the regional council session to be held on 29 January.
It should be noted that the situation with electricity supply in the Mykolaiv region remains difficult. Earlier, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, said that residents should be prepared for the worst-case scenario — up to two hours of electricity per day.
