At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, there are a little more than two thousand people, among whom there are not enough specialists.
This was announced by the mayor of the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, on the air of Ukrainian Radio.
According to him, there were about 11,000 workers at the station before the occupation. However, most of the personnel of the operational unit, which is licensed, left for the controlled territory of Ukraine.
«Since the beginning of February this year, the occupiers have stopped letting in licensed personnel who did not sign contracts with a fake company from Rosatom. So, if until now they already had a difficult situation with the provision of qualified personnel at the ZNPP, it has been extremely difficult since February. Now the station is served by a little more than 2,000 people, not all of whom are specialists and not all of them even worked at the ZNPP until that moment,» said Dmytro Orlov.
He also added that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant «works as a military base» for the third year in a row.
«The perimeter is mined, the territory is partially mined. The personnel of the occupying forces and military equipment are located in the technological premises. The personnel have to feel both psychological and physical pressure and torture from the occupiers. Currently, about ten people are being held in occupation torture camps for their pro-Ukrainian position or simply because something was found in their phone or apartment,» Dmytro Orlov added.
We will remind that the Board of Governors of the IAEA by a majority of votes supported the draft resolution on nuclear safety, security and guarantees in Ukraine developed by Ukraine.
