The head of the medical department in the correctional colony in the Mykolaiv region was charged with extorting and receiving a bribe from a convict.
This was reported in the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the doctor demanded and received 5,000 hryvnias from the convict for making a decision on his undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
