The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelektrotrans» has announced a tender for routine repairs to the road surface at the trolleybus depot. The cost of the works amounts to 2 million 433 thousand hryvnias.

This is according to data from the Prozorro public procurement system, as reported by NikVesti.

The sole bidder was the private company «Mykolaivmagistral». According to the tender documentation, the contractor was to carry out paving and asphalting work on the grounds of the trolleybus depot.

Yurii Smetana, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelektrotrans», explained in a comment to NikVesti that the repairs are being carried out on the depot premises, from where new trolleybuses depart daily.

He said that the road surface had suffered significant damage as a result of Russian shelling, so its repair is essential for the safe operation of electric transport.

«We are resurfacing the area of the trolleybus depot from which all new trolleybuses depart. Since the start of the full-scale war, this area has been hit by several missiles. To keep the vehicles in good working order and prevent damage to the undercarriage, we have resurfaced the worst sections where there were large potholes. This is more comfortable and safer for drivers, and also extends the service life of the vehicles,» said Yurii Smetana.

As a reminder, since the start of 2026, the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivelektrotrans» has purchased glass worth 3.4 million hryvnias.

In addition, Mykolaiv will receive a further nine trolleybuses funded by a grant — the city council has approved a supplementary agreement with the EBRD. As Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych emphasised, the funding for these trolleybuses is being provided by the Danish government through the EBRD’s co-financing mechanism, so the city will not take out any loans or spend any budget funds.
