In the Mykolaiv region, 7% more land has been sown so far than in 2025. The region is expecting a stable harvest despite some losses due to weather conditions.

This was stated by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, on the «Yedyni Novyny» programme, according to NikVesti.

«At the moment, we have 7% more sown land than last year. This means we have high hopes for the harvest our farmers will receive. We have sown 5% more winter crops. There was sufficient moisture. There is a problem with horticulture, and around 5% of crops have been replanted because they could not withstand the weather conditions. Despite this, the situation is stable,» he assured.

According to Kim, programmes to support the agricultural sector are in place in the region.

«For frontline regions, co-financing is lower, but more funds can be obtained thanks to a lower interest rate on loans. The government is expanding the programmes. We are initiating additional ones,» he said.

He also noted that a new programme to support vegetable farming and provide compensation for the construction of crop storage facilities will be launched this year.

It was previously reported that 1.4 million hectares of crops are planned to be sown in the Mykolaiv region this year, which is 100,000 hectares more than last year.

It later emerged that, according to preliminary data, Mykolaiv region has been included in the list of regions where farmers have sown the largest areas of cereals and legumes — 89,400 hectares.
