As of 21 March, clean-up operations in the waters of the Southern Bug River in Mykolaiv are continuing after an oil spill caused by Russian drones on 28 December 2024.
According to the Mykolaiv City Council, the services have started a new stage of work today.
It is noted that at the fifth berth, specialists are using a special sorbing agent «Econadin», which allows them to absorb the remaining pollutants and speed up the water purification process.
The work is being carried out in accordance with environmental standards, the city council said.
As a reminder, on the night of 28 December in Mykolaiv, UAV debris damaged a vegetable oil tank of the agricultural enterprise «Ecotrans».
As of the beginning of February, 300 tonnes of the oil-water emulsion had already been pumped out.
