Mykolaiv residents complained about utility workers who dump garbage into storm drains

In Mykolaiv, municipal workers, while cleaning garbage from the road, threw it into the storm drain instead of taking it away.

The corresponding video, which recorded the work of utility workers, was published on the page of the contact center of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The woman who posted the video asks the city authorities to pay attention to this quality of cleaning.

It is worth noting that the problem of flooding, in particular, of Tsentralnyi Avenue in the area of Dormashyna and Sadova, as well as the streets parallel to it, occurs in Mykolaiv every time after heavy rains. The last such case was in the summer of 2023, when several streets in the center of Mykolaiv were flooded due to a downpour.

Oleksandr Bereza, the head of the administration of the Tsentralyi district, stated that the Dormashyna district is constantly flooded during the rains due to the fact that the channel of an ancient river used to pass through this place.

In addition, in the summer of 2021, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council commissioned a project for the construction of stormwater collectors on Tsentralnyi Avenue.
