Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that during road repairs, contractors damaged the kerbs on Stoliarna Street.

He announced this on 2 February during a staff meeting at the Mykolaiv City Council, according to NikVesti.

According to the mayor, despite the high-quality renovation of the road surface, part of the existing kerbs were destroyed during the work.

«On Stoliarna Street and 3rd Viiskova Street. They did the repairs. Yes, they did a great job on the crossing, but while you were doing it, you destroyed some of the kerbs that were there on Stoliarna Street», said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

He suggested that the damage could have been caused by heavy equipment driving onto the roadside. The mayor instructed that after the snow melts, the problem areas should be inspected and the kerbs repaired.

«The equipment probably drove there and ran over them. Some kerbs were tilted, others were destroyed. They were concrete. Take a look and repair them,» ordered the mayor.

We remind you that in Mykolaiv, municipal services used 207 tonnes of anti-icing mixture in 24 hours and cleared the contact networks for electric transport.

Earlier, Oleksandr Sienkevych called on the heads of condominiums, management companies, and businesses to quickly clear and sprinkle the paths near the adjacent territories.

In particular, eight combined road machines and one loader from the ELU Avtodorig municipal enterprise are on duty on the streets of Mykolaiv. The situation on the roads will be monitored by the dispatcher on duty.
