73 generators with a capacity of 10.8-240 kW will be delivered to Ukrainian hospitals, primary health care centers, outpatient clinics, perinatal centers and oncology dispensaries for uninterrupted operation in the event of possible power outages.

This was reported in the Ministry of Health.

The equipment was purchased as part of the joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank «Emergency response to COVID-19 and vaccination in Ukraine».

Generators are distributed to 15 regions and the city of Kyiv. Mykolaiv Oblast is not among these regions. The Ministry of Health noted that currently the process of supplying equipment to medical institutions of Ukraine continues in accordance with the actual needs of each region.

The generators will be transferred to Ternopil, Rivne, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsk, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Lviv regions.

«Given Russia's constant attacks and shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, providing health care facilities with generators will enable hospitals to work without interruption under any critical conditions. Such equipment is able to ensure the full operation of medical institutions in conditions of power failure. The generators will operate automatically in the event of an emergency power outage and will supply voltage to the network,» the message reads.

Currently, for uninterrupted work, medical institutions of Ukraine have 11,139 generators that will operate automatically in the event of an emergency.

Earlier, the head of Mykolaiv Oblast Vitalii Kim reported that Mykolaiv Oblast is equipped with generators and has a capacity reserve that is three times higher than the electricity needs.
