The MDI told how many attempts have been made on Budanov since the beginning of the war

Since the beginning of the war, more than ten serious assassination attempts have been made against the head of the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov.

Andrii Yusov, representative of the State Government, stated this on the air of the FreeDom TV channel.

According to him, the main targets for Moscow are the Supreme Commander-in-Chief — the President of Ukraine, as well as the heads of the Ukrainian special services.

«More than ten serious assassination attempts were made against General Budanov. «Unfortunately, as a result of these attempts, over the past 10 years, officers of the Ukrainian intelligence have also died,» said the representative of the intelligence.

According to Andrii Yusov, many attempted assassinations against the military and political leadership of Ukraine were not only being prepared, but also being carried out.

It will be recalled that the Main Directorate of Intelligence officially confirmed the poisoning of Marianna, the wife of the head of Kyrylo Budanov. The woman was poisoned with heavy metals.

Earlier it was reported that Rosfinmonitoring included the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in the list of «terrorists and extremists».

In December of last year, Kyrylo Budanov was again arrested in absentia in Russia in connection with a terrorist attack. This time, he was accused of involvement in more than a hundred drone attacks in Moscow and other regions of Russia, as well as in the annexed Crimea, between April 2022 and September 2023.

Also, the Russian authorities declared Kyrylo Budanov an international wanted man and arrested him in absentia.
