Defense forces hit the Kostiantyn Olshanskyi ship, which was stolen by the Russians during the occupation of Crimea in 2014, with a Neptune missile.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated this on FreeDom.

According to him, after the occupation of Crimea, «Kostyantyn Olshansky» was idle for a long time in the bay of Sevastopol, and the ship was dismantled for spare parts. However, it was later restored and the Russians tried to pass this ship off as their restored amphibious assault ship «Minsk» or «Olenegorskyi Gorniak», which the Ukrainian military had attacked earlier.

As the speaker added, the purpose of these works was to make a falsification in order to report to the Moscow leadership about how they had restored one of allegedly «their» large amphibious ships.

«Kostiantyn Olshanskyi» was hit by a «Neptune» missile. According to Dmytro Pletenchuk, the data on the damage to this ship is currently being clarified, but it is known that it is «definitely not in a state of combat readiness.»

It will be recalled that on the night of March 5, naval drones attacked the ship «Sergei Kotov» of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, which was based in the occupied Crimea.
